Option 2
A new upper module (prefix) is placed on the remaining lower unit, and the bone is reconstructed around it. The uncontaminated titanium surface of the new module guarantees the success of the procedure. Afterwards it is possible to use the old denture or make a new one.
This method allows to extend the lifespan of the implant and of the denture, and to restore the height of the lost bone without serious surgical intervention and with minimal costs. On the same day the patient gets back his old permanent denture, or gets a new temporary denture.

In order to remove the exposed part of the implant, first the crown and the abutment are removed

Afterwards the upper module is also removed. The remaining lower unit is already well integrated
with the bone and is a full-fledged functional implant by itself

A new module is placed on the remaining lower unit, and the old abutment is fixed upon it

To compensate for the bone height loss, the bone is reconstructed around the new upper module

The old crown is fixed back in place
